Fitness Challenge – Day 7, 8 and 9

Day 7 – Sunday
And then there was rest. I took this literally in a sense that I didn’t do a formal workout, but there are always walks and running and chasing and lifting when you have young active boys.

Day 8 – Monday
Weight lifting for 1 hour using Jari Love’s Get Ripped 1000. It’s a combo cardio and compound exercises. I wouldn’t say it’s hard, but it is challenging. I finished it off with heavy lifting leg extensions.

Weigh in – 142.6 – I lost not quite a pound. This weigh-in was later in the day because I forgot in the morning. But good enough to take as results. After one week, I do feel stronger – carried in tons more stuff with my groceries. Although my light weights will not truly build muscle at the rate that heavy weights will, I do feel better overall.

Day 9 – Tuesday
Back to the road today. I really enjoy running sometimes, but am in a little bit of a rut with it. None-the-less, I ventured out with the boys for my usual 6ish mile run. We took two walking breaks for exploration, knocking off about 1/2 mile off the total. But it does bring down my times a lot. I had a pretty good run across what I call the “backside”, but a few stops for traffic and stupid people. Do they know how hard it is to run with an 85 lb. full stroller?
