This is the hardest time of the year to run. When I was an almost 2000 mile a year runner, I still struggled in January and February – only about 80 miles in those months. This year, I’ll be luck if I get to 40.
I have been working out though. Step aerobics is it. I’m enjoying it – even though I still do it outside. I bundle up for sure and then strip down as the workout evolves. It’s not bad – I mean the cold. The workout either. I’m starting to catch onto the routine some.
My bunion does not like step aerobics. Not. One. Bit. I’ve been shuffling through my running shoes hoping to find a pair that is tight enough around my upper foot to keep me from wiggling around so much and aggravating the bunion even more. I’m not buying more shoes, so maybe it’s a matter of more socks.
My eating has been good these days. I’m actually more of a drinker. My soda habit is falling by the wayside, but I’m finding I love the vitamin waters and the energy drinks along with my daily coffee and water and usually some milk. Drinking keeps me from eating more than I do, I think. But it also keeps me running back and forth to the bathroom at all hours of the day and night.
My Turbo Jam review on my other blog has been driving up traffic over there. If you are the video type, do not even think about buying it. The more I do other workouts, the less I like that video. What was I thinking?
